How Real Families Benefit from Milestone Pediatrics

Click below to discover how families like yours are embracing the difference of Milestone Pediatrics!

  • The Roscoes have two kids, Sarah age 5 and Caden, age 2.

In the past year, they visited their pediatrician for the following reasons:

Sarah: 5 year well child check-up, vision/hearing screening for Kindergarten, behavior concerns, sore throat and fever, flu vaccine, weird rash, and stomach bug.

Caden: All well child check-ups for age, multiple visits for runny nose/cough, stomach bug and dehydration, constipation, and bruise/bump on head.

While their children are generally very healthy and they have great insurance, they ended up spending over $2,200 out of pocket on healthcare costs for their children. They also spent a lot of time coordinating visits that did not necessarily require a visit in person (many rashes can be diagnosed by a quick text!), spent time waiting, and felt uncertain about some of the bills they received.

Milestone Pediatrics saves time, provides convenient, quality care, and has great value even for healthy kids!

  • The Cooper family just had their first baby. She has been a very fussy baby, spits up frequently, and her parents keep hearing conflicting information from various friends, family, and internet sites. They were initially seen by a few different providers at her pediatric practice until they received an appointment with the doctor they were hoping to see. They had multiple office visits for feeding concerns, weight loss, and they saw a lactation consultant outside of the pediatric office for a separate fee.

Milestone Pediatrics is a perfect fit for the Coopers! They can avoid delays in calls being returned, confusing messaging, and feel certain that all of their concerns have been addressed at all of her visits. If something comes up, they can easily have her seen for another appointment, because there is not a limit on how many visits are covered, and there is no dreaded co-pay at each office visit. Her parents can have peace of mind that their daughter is getting the most attentive care and their concerns are being heard.

If they forget to mention something due to lack of sleep, they can just send a text when they remember it! They also love that there is little to no exposure to sick kids in the office.

  • The Ruby Family has four children. Their 8-year-old, Jimmy, has ADHD and some symptoms of anxiety. He has been seen by his pediatrician for an initial ADHD evaluation, and after his diagnosis he went for monthly medication checks until his symptoms improved. He now sees the doctor every 3 months for his ADHD medicine checks.

Jimmy's dad spends extra time making calls to the office for medication refills on his ADHD medicine, clarifying doses with the pharmacy, and repeating what feels like the same thing at every medication check while someone clicks boxes in the computer. His younger sister, Aria, is 4 and suffers from asthma. She also requires visits for her asthma care every 3 months and more often when she has flare ups. Last month, the doctors office lost her asthma forms for her inhaler at preschool. She ended up in the emergency room for an asthma flare up because the office did not have a visit with her doctor for two days.

The Rubys' mom signed up for Milestone Pediatrics as soon as she heard about it. She wanted to be able to text her questions to the doctor, make visits more efficient and convenient, and take advantage of Dr. Rose’s comprehensive chronic disease management. This allowed her kids to miss fewer days of school, the parents to miss fewer days of work, and Dr. Rose customized a plan to follow their symptoms.

It’s not their fault that the children have chronic medical conditions which require more frequent medical care. At Milestone, they don’t pay extra for the services their children need. They saved a significant amount of money in medical bills and took advantage of the family max discount at Milestone.

  • The Rodriguez family only sees their pediatrician for well child care. They have two teenagers, a third grader, and one toddler who attends daycare. They use Blueberry Pediatrics or Teledoc services when they can for sickness, or sometimes they go to the local urgent care. Their toddler, Jayden, often needs to be seen for fevers, runny noses, cough, and ear infections in order to be cleared to return to daycare. They spent a lot of extra time at his last well child visit discussing his recurring infections and need for ear tubes with the pediatrician, which resulted in an extra bill due to the referral.

One time, their teenager Marley went to urgent care for a sore throat, and although the strep test was negative, she was treated with antibiotics and steroids. The Rodriguez parents have often wondered if the quality of care from convenient services like Teledoc and urgent care are really the best for their children, but their pediatrician visits always end up being too long and fail to work with their busy schedules.

Milestone Pediatrics is a great fit for the Rodriguez family! They can receive convenient quality care when needed, and no surprise bills or strange prescriptions that may be unnecessary. Milestone provides an opportunity to give their children the best healthcare.

  • The Rileys have a 12-year-old medically complex child. They anticipate that they will reach their insurance deductible every year due to Carly seeing multiple pediatric subspecialists and requiring procedures, scans, and routine medications and equipment for her care.

Milestone Pediatrics is a great way to ensure that their child receives a high level of care coordination, with a focus on maximizing their child’s developmental progress, meeting her nutritional needs, and ensuring her comfort and safety in the office. Check-ins by phone can be scheduled so that we can monitor conditions closely, and handle any unanticipated issues quickly instead of just putting it off until the next office visit.

  • The Nala Family is between health insurance plans due to dad having self-employment and mom stays at home to school the kids. They currently use a Health Sharing Ministry for coverage. They value health care, but sometimes the price tag is just too high for them to afford.

They know their son is not a healthy weight, and the last time his doctor checked labs for that, they received an outrageous lab bill, so they have not been back. They also have switched providers frequently due to changes in insurance plans.

Milestone is a great fit for this family, because Dr. Rose can provide a consistent and trusting relationship, which is paramount for a child’s healthcare needs. We can work together on wellness goals one small, doable step at a time. We love small businesses, and want to support families where they are and ensure they have access to the quality healthcare they deserve.
