Discover the difference of Direct Primary Care.

  • Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership-based model of delivering health care that operates outside of the boundaries and restrictions of insurance-based medicine.

Milestone Pediatrics provides convenient care at your fingertips. Because we do not accept or bill insurance, it allows us to take care of your needs in a way that is not dictated by billable codes or insurance-driven “quality” measures.

This allows more time face-to-face with your pediatrician, fewer delays in care, and higher efficiency. It provides you a chance to have personalized care for your child where we work with you, not for insurance companies or big corporations.

  • In order to offer direct access to Dr. Rose, ensure longer appointment times, excellent communication before/during/after your appointment, and clear and consistent pricing, we do not accept insurance.

  • Milestone Pediatrics is a great fit for families who are looking for an elevated, personalized experience with their child’s medical care. Insurance premiums continue to rise, and services and prescription coverage policies continue to shrink.

By providing a majority of your pediatric care for a set membership fee, many families will save money!

  • Yes, you can still use your insurance for things like x-rays, send-out lab work, referrals, medications, vaccinations, surgery, and medical emergencies.

Some families who use DPC may opt for a less expensive, catastrophic or emergency-only healthcare plan.

  • Yes, probably.

Milestone Pediatrics recommends that all families check with their employer’s plan to determine specifically approved uses for HSA/FSA funds.

  • By operating outside of insurance parameters and corporate medicine, Milestone Pediatrics offers a more personalized, more convenient, more connected experience. You have the privilege to be in direct contact with Dr. Rose by quick text, call, video chat, or appointment. It’s like having a doctor in the family!

Appointments can be as long or as short as you need, there is little or no wait time. You are greeted directly at the front door of the office, so you and your child feel comfortable and at home. There is no pile of paperwork at visits, forms can easily be filled out online.

Pricing is clear and consistent, with no surprise bills. You can spend your valuable time and effort focusing on your child’s best health, receive excellent quality evidence-based care, and benefit from the value of true doctor-patient relationship.

  • Dr. Rose can handle the majority of your medical concerns.

In order for her practice to be sustainable, she asks that members reserve messaging after hours for urgent concerns only.

  • At times, your child may be sick enough to require hospital-level care. This is not covered by Milestone Pediatrics.

In case of emergency, Dr. Rose recommends that patients go to Niswonger Children’s Hospital Emergency at the Johnson City Medical Center.

  • Of course!

There may be times when a patient needs to see a pediatric sub-specialist, such as a surgeon, an allergist, a cardiologist, an endocrinologist, a gastroenterologist, or others. Dr. Rose will be happy to send pertinent information and arrange a referral for you.

  • Vaccines are critically important to good health in children, as they provide immunity to potentially life-threatening diseases ideally before children are exposed.  I follow CDC guidelines for recommended early childhood vaccinations for my patients and for my own children, as well.

Milestone pediatrics is not a good fit for you if you do not intend to vaccinate your child. If you have questions about a particular recommended vaccine or its components, I am happy to discuss.
